What a good year it has been for the Under 6’s team. Our team has gone from strength to strength. Although we are not playing league games until September we have remained undefeated in all our friendly games.
Our first two games were played against Guildford 2000 away. Some great individual goals were scored by Daniel Collett, Xani Lawrence, Jordan Long and Max Ling. George Hooper and James Sullivan were indispensable in defence.
One of my most memorable games was against Woking Cougars at home. We won 8-3 with Taylor Monroe making his match debut for us and scoring. Tate Pilgrim scored with a glancing header, Daniel Collett got his first hat-trick, Max Ling scored against his friend’s team and Jordan Long and Nathan Povey also scored!!! Brandon Brockwell and Tyler Scott-Doland played very well sharing goal and pitch positions.
We played Feltham Youth at Byfleet Recreational Ground and Jacob Sutton was Man of the Match for his outstanding defending and Tristan Fahey showed us what a top-class goal-keeper he’s becoming by keeping the score at one all.
At the end of May we played in a mini-tournament at Feltham against Feltham Youth and Chertsey Town. Our first game was against Chertsey. The score was 4-0 to us. The final game with Feltham proved to be our most nail-biting and tense of the season. We went 2-0 up in the first half and in the second half Feltham put up an excellent fight and came back with a goal. Again, thanks to outstanding team work by our team the final score was 2-1 us and we brought home the trophy! As a result of this tournament three of our players have been asked to train for professional teams. Taylor Monroe is training with Chelsea and Daniel Collett and Jordan Long with QPR (Queen’s Park Rangers).
We have also played games against Woking Boys and Girls (we won 4-3 away) and Oatlands and Mamby Lodge (we won 7-1 at home).
Our Manager’s Player of the Year award goes to the outstanding Taylor Monroe, Highest Goal Scorer goes to Daniel (golden boots) Collett and Most Improved Player to our prize goalie Tristan Fahey.
Thank you to my whole team for all your hard work. I have had great fun coaching you. Keep up the excellent work!!
