TEAM HISTORY
Season 2005/6 (29/07/06)

Despite starting our first season with only 7 players we managed to win our first 3 games. We made it to the top of the league, which was an amazing achievement for the team. All the boys and girls worked really hard to keep are place, unfortunately we ended up in 6th place. The team still gave a 110% no matter what was thrown at them. One of the disadvantages was not having a regular goal keeper so all the boys and girls took turns in goal. I would like to thank them because many of them did not enjoy this role!

Through the season I have seen great improvement with all the team, especially James Pryer and Emily Collett. James has shown great progress with his running and tackling which has helped him score some great goals. Emily has also scored some amazing goals, she always gets stuck in. She is a very dedicated member of the team. Our top goal scorer is Sam Weston, he has shown that he is more than capable of playing in all positions, his determination is so inspiring. Matthew Groves is also a very competent member of the team playing in defence, he always gets rid of the ball. One of are best goal keepers is Zach Ryan he has made some great saves and plays great on pitch too, he has scored some great goals too. Matthew Bateman also plays in defence and has shown some great football, he is also a valued member of the team. Our last two team members are Lewis Suarez and David Jones they also have shown they can play all positions of the game. They have also scored several times and are very dedicated members of team.

They all worked so hard. I hoped they enjoyed the season. Hopefully the next one will be more
rewarding. Many thanks to all the team and the parents for all the support and help I’ve received.

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
