After a slow start to the season losing our first four League games, we got our first points on the board just before the Christmas break. The lads were finally finding their feet at 11 a-side with only two of the team having played 11 a-side before. We managed to sign up a couple of extra players early in the season giving the team much more overall strength.
With the lads playing some really good football at time their efforts not being reflected in some of our results their confidence growing with every game, our best performance being against Feltham Wanderers 7-0, a team which we beat three times this season twice in the League and once in the Cup, a fine performance of team work and skill by all.
We finished our season with a 1-0 win which gave us 13 points for the season and finished 4 points above the bottom two.
I hope the lads can continue their fine efforts next season.
This season has been a season of ups and downs we started with three straight loses games against teams which we had 70% of the play but luck was not with us. With a change in the format of the team we got our first win of the season this led the team to get their confidence and to get a first round win over our local rivals from the Premier Division Sheerwater 4-3 a.e.t. This led in to our biggest win of the season against Oxshott Royals we put 11 goals in the net but could have been a lot more.
We got to the semi final of the cup losing against a very good
AFC Wimbledon—the team still played some very good football in this game.
This all led to us playing the top two teams in the league home and away which see us lose four games in a row but after that we did finish with a good win in our last game of the season resulting with us finishing middle of the table.
Ending the season with a very good squad of 18 players and looking forward to the new challenge of the Surrey Primary League next season
We started this season off with a squad of 16 players,
hoping with a move over to the SPL to have a very
competitive season, how wrong could we have been. All of the closed season saw us trying to get our selves in to a
division that was more suited to the way we played. After a long battle we got nowhere and had to play in the Premier Division. All of our team giving 100% every game coming away with nothing to show for their hard fought efforts.
Our first win of the season came in the Plate competition
a well deserved 8-4 win over the old foe F.C. Crusaders, this seemed to restore some belief in to the team it was not long after we got our first and only win it the League. We went into the Semi-Final of the plate with high hopes with the team playing their best football of the season looking at a place in the Final if we won. Unfortunately it was not to be losing 4-3 to Frimley. We finished the season off with heads held high a squad of 18 players. With
players looking at joining us for next season we are all
looking forward to the challenge of football in a lower
division.
