Season 2006/7
Well, where do I start?!
Im sure that everyone who is involved with the U13s will agree that this season has been our best one yet.
We remained in the SPL Division 4 and decided that this season we would continue to build on the foundations that were laid last season. The boys knew that they could do well, win matches and score goals and now that belief needed to get bigger and stronger.
We won our first League match of the season 5 2 which gave the boys some confidence. Maybe too much though as our second match saw a lose for us.
Terry Hann (U17s manager) has been helping out with our training sessions and the new drills that he has introduced have helped the boys to really grasp the concept of playing 11 a side football.
Over the entire season we won 10 League matches, drew 4 League matches and only lost 8 League matches. This is the first season where the team has won more matches than they lost. Fantastic!!! We scored a total of 85 League goals too again a huge improvement on last season (31 more goals scored!) We finished the season in the top half of the League table and the boys have every right to feel pleased and proud of themselves.
We have a fantastic team of lads who continue to show their commitment to each other. They work hard (but they also know how to have fun!), they are continuing to improve week by week but, more importantly, they really enjoy playing football and being part of the team. They should all be very proud of what they have achieved this season!
I am proud and honoured to be their manager and cant wait to see what the coming season brings. At last Presentation Evening I said that this season the boys would be bigger and better THEY ARE!
